This is it—with this advertisement, the Marvel Age truly began. The first branding of the “Marvel Comics Group.” The first mention of “The House of Ideas.” The first time this many characters from different titles shared a page.

As much as I absolutely love Bruce Timm’s art (it was my first inspiration for drawing as a kid), I have to admit: every time I see one of his pictures of the ladies, my back hurts.

I mean, look at those postures. They’re hot, but they’re all about to get in line at the chiropractor.
